it's Official......

I am now represented by Karen Alweil Studios............I met her at the New York gift show in January, Larry from OK did the intro...thank you Larry. I am excited. It also means I will be introducing some new work for the summer and winter shows...Yay! Any excuse to make some thing new.

For June and August I am introducing my Scandinavian modern influenced line of jewelry....my mother is Norwegian after all. She came here at twenty one. I was going to name the line "Jorunn" after her, but since no one can really pronounce it correctly I think I will go with "the Astrid line" which means strong and beautiful one.

You have seen the waxes I have been carving....above is a peek of it in gold.

Pedestals FINALLY

i have been told forever i should think of something to put my smaller work on.....and i have tried various things from chunks of scrap hard wood, to concrete, to glass circles - a bad idea on many levels, just to name a few. i had a meeting with someone and she said - again- i really do need pedestals for each piece. a Yikes then a Pause and then it just came to me. i should use the same marble i already use on my larger pieces. so what i have pondered, fretted, labored over, worried and obsessed over for years has been right in front of me, literally, the whole time. i know that is a spiritual axiom for all of you, but it really is amazing when i finally see it for me.
